My everyday service area is Winnipeg and roughly 150 km around it — that part needs no run; it’s regular dispatch with the quote in writing. Scheduled runs cover the country past that, in more than one direction. My longest-standing run has its own page. Anywhere else — text me the town; if a run can reach it, I’ll tell you when the next one is, and if it genuinely can’t, I’ll say so straight.
Why people text me for a run
What travels well.
Most often it’s a full set of lost keys rebuilt from scratch — the car that’s been sitting keyless for weeks at a cottage, a farmyard, or the back of a lot. But everything travels: a spare key, fob programming, a key cut from the lock, or a plain car lockout.
Automotive only — no cabin doors, padlocks, boathouse locks, or safes. If the lock isn’t on a vehicle, I’ll point you to someone who does buildings.

To quote a run

That’s the whole ask. The written quote comes straight back — the whole visit in one written number.

What it costs on a run
The city price list travels with me.
The key work itself costs the same as it does in Winnipeg — the pricing-page floors don’t change because the car is out on a run. Before I drive, you get one written number for the whole visit, by text. No meter, no on-arrival surprises — the number is the agreement, and you pay when the key works. If the vehicle can’t be serviced for a reason that wasn’t shared up front, the $45 service call applies — named in the same text before anything moves.

That $45 + tax applies only when I drive out and can’t finish because of something about the vehicle I wasn’t told about beforehand — a broken ignition behind what looked like a key problem, say — or if the job is cancelled after I’m on the road, or no one’s there when I arrive. Also worth knowing
After hours — flat $75
My set hours are 7 a.m.–9 p.m. every day, and inside them there’s no weekend rate, no holiday rate, no rush rate. If the work lands between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., a flat $75 after-hours fee is added on top of the job’s regular starting price, plus tax — named in the same written quote.
Plus applicable tax
Tax is added to the total and itemized on your receipt. Every cost is in the written quote first — no surprise line when I pull up.
The number you agree to by text is the number you pay. If you'd rather not send the VIN before booking, that's fine — the quote just comes back as a small range until I see the car.

What is a scheduled run?
A planned service day where I drive a route out of Winnipeg and do car-key work at each customer's location along it — lost keys, spares, fobs, lockouts. Runs are booked ahead, not same-day: text me your town and the vehicle, and I'll come back with the date of the next run out your way and one written number.
When is the next run to my area?
Text me your town — that's the whole step. Dates go out by text and local posts when a run is set. If you want them without watching for a post, text NEXT TRIP and your town and I'll message you the date directly.
Do I prepay anything?
No. Nothing is prepaid on a scheduled run — you get one written number by text before I drive, and you pay when the key works. The only exception is a $45 service call if the vehicle turns out not to be serviceable for a reason that wasn't shared up front.
