Lost every key to your F-150? I make a new one at the truck.

If every key to your Ford F-150 is gone, the truck doesn't need a tow — it needs a locksmith who comes to it. I build a brand-new key at the truck and program it on the spot. All-keys-lost starts at $280+ plus tax, and the exact number arrives by text before I drive out.

The F-150 has been Canada's best-selling truck for decades, which means two things: I see more of them than any other truck, and their keys live harder lives than most — jobsites, boat launches, farm yards, tackle boxes. Here's exactly how the job works, what it costs, and the one cheap move that means you never read this page again.

TL;DR · which F-150 job is it?

Two very different prices.

Pre-tax, mobile, at the truck. "+" means "starts at" — the exact number comes by text first.

No working key left

All keys lost (AKL)

New key built & programmed at the truck$280+

Every copy is gone, so a new key is made from scratch and matched to the truck. Ownership verification required — photo ID matched to registration or insurance.

One key still works

Spare or extra fob

With one working key in hand, you're in the cheap job. Get the spare before the truck decides otherwise.

All Ford models — Escape, Explorer, Edge, Mustang, Super Duty — live on the Ford key replacement page; the full price ladder is on pricing.

This is a job I actually do — here's one.

The photo below is from a real all-keys-lost call: an F-150 with no working key left, two fresh smart fobs cut and programmed at the truck, owner back on the road the same visit.

Which key does your F-150 use?

F-150s span three broad key styles, and the style — more than the year — is what moves the price inside the quote:

  • Metal-blade transponder keys — most older trucks. The affordable end of the ladder.
  • Remote-head / flip keys — blade plus buttons in one unit, common through the middle years.
  • Push-button-start smart fobs — newer trucks. The pricier hardware, still done at the truck.

Not sure which you have? Text me the year and a photo of the door handle — I'll tell you, along with the written quote. I have dealer-level access for most makes on the road, Ford included.

How the all-keys-lost job goes.

1

Text the year + where it's parked

A photo of your VIN (bottom of the windshield) helps me confirm the exact key the truck needs — here's why I ask.

2

Written quote before I move

One number, in the text thread, including any travel. The quote is the price — no arrival surprises.

3

I build the key at the truck

Cut and programmed on-site — driveway, jobsite, or the boat launch parking lot. Ownership verified first.

4

You start the truck, then pay

Unlock, start, drive it a metre if you like — then pay. Most F-150 all-keys-lost jobs finish in a single visit.

The work-truck rule: two keys, always.

Work trucks lose keys in ways commuter cars don't — a tailgate pocket at the dump run, a jacket at the jobsite, the bottom of the lake. If your F-150 is down to one key, a spare is $90+ plus tax on your schedule, versus $280+ on the day the last key disappears mid-job. And if every key really is gone right now, the full service picture is on the lost car keys page.

Common questions about F-150 keys.

How much does it cost to replace all lost keys on a Ford F-150 in Winnipeg?

All-keys-lost on an F-150 starts at $280+ plus tax — a brand-new key built and programmed at the truck, no tow to a dealer. The exact price depends on the year and key style (metal-blade transponder, remote-head, or push-button smart fob), so text me the year and I send a written quote before I drive out.

Can you make an F-150 key without the original?

Yes. When every key to the truck is gone I make a new one from scratch at your location and program it to the vehicle — that is the all-keys-lost job. I carry blanks for the common F-150 key styles across model years, and I verify ownership first: government photo ID matched to the registration or insurance.

Do you program F-150 remote and smart key fobs?

Yes — cut and programmed on-site. If you supply your own reputable aftermarket fob, programming is labour-only from $90+ plus tax; if I supply the fob, the price depends on the style and comes in the written quote. Push-button-start smart fobs are the pricier hardware tier.

Do you come to jobsites or outside Winnipeg for truck keys?

Yes. Work trucks lose keys at jobsites, boat launches, and farm yards more than anywhere else, and I come to all of them — Winnipeg and out to roughly 150 km. Travel past the Perimeter is a mileage charge quoted in writing before I leave, one number that includes the drive.

How I quote

Number first. Then work.

  • Written quote by text before I dispatch. The number you see is the number you pay (pre-tax), travel included.
  • Most makes on the road. Send your year, make, and model and I'll confirm yours before I come.
  • I come to you. Driveway, lot, campsite, or roadside — across Winnipeg and out to about 150 km.
  • Pay after it works. You watch the new key start the car, then you pay me on the spot. Never up front.
